Since 2009, the Research Centre on Sea Technologies and Marine Robotics has led local, national and international projects relevant to:

  • the design and development of autonomous marine robots (HydroNet FP7 EC project) and underwater vehicles (V-FIDES project, Tuscany Region) for monitoring aquatic environments and for the underwater in-situ conservation of archaeology finds using ROVs equipped with manipulators (COMAS PON project, Calabria Region);
  • the design and development of biomimetic technologies inspired by marine species, for marine applications (OCTOPUS, CFD-OctoProp, PoseiDRONE).
